Highlight: George Michael Contest

November 29th, 2006 by telugu

Today I’m going to share a George Michael moment with you.

When my cousin and I were little kids, we’d crimp our hair, roll on our neon legwarmers, and put on our favorite jellies and scrunch socks to perform George Michael’s endearing hit “Last Christmas” for our parents.

I wish I had taped our little performace. If I did, it’d be uploaded faster than you can belt out “I’ll give it to someone special!”

Are you, your mom, your aunt, or sister a George Michael fan? If so, I’ve got a terrific holiday present for you.

To celebrate the release of George Michael’s album “Twenty Five,” RCA Label Group is inviting fans from all over the world to upload their version of the classic video “Last Christmas”. Every video that is submitted will go into a random draw to win George Michael merchandise!

Highlight: I’m Thankful for Net Neutrality

November 22nd, 2006 by telugu

Thanksgiving dinner has just ended - belts have been loosened, there’s pumpkin pie stains on mom’s white linen tablecloth, and all that tryptophan pumping through your body is making you sleepy.

What else is there left to do? Well, this is usually the time when everyone goes around the table and shares what they’re thankful for. You’ve heard it all before: I’m thankful for my family, my dog, and Grandma’s chocolate-pecan-pumpkin-pie.

This year, I challenge you to think outside the box. What are you really thankful for? What could you possibly not live without?

When it’s my turn around the table this year, I’m going express thanks for my parents and my grandparents, for the roof over my head, and for the new TV show Heroes, but I’m also going to throw in my thanks to this neat invention called the Internet. I’m sure you’ve heard of it. It’s something millions of us use everyday, something that has become such an integral part of our daily lives that I don’t think some of us realize how dependent we are on it. Doesn’t this big guy deserve some sort of recognition? So here I go - I’m thankful for the Internet. Are you?

After The Elections - Then What?

November 21st, 2006 by telugu

With the 2006 U.S. elections just finished, the important issues facing Americans — education, health care, national security, the economy and others — demand serious attention from Republicans and Democrats alike, no matter which side winds up controlling Congress.

The New America Foundation is a Washington DC-based, non-partisan think tank that regularly brings together policy experts from across the political spectrum to tackle vital domestic and global issues. More than 170 of these New America events are now on Google Video, with new videos being added each week.

Attention college football fans

November 17th, 2006 by telugu

It’s college football season, and one of the best parts in my view is the intense rivalry — when we see our favorite local teams go head to head, each claiming to be the “best team in town” for another year. (And, in the case of Michigan vs. Ohio State this weekend maybe even the “best team in the country”).

While the hits, fumbles, and touchdowns keep us all watching, we think — and we hope you agree — that some of the greatest moments in college football come from the fans. Think tailgates, reunions, painted faces, mascots and cheerleaders, where that spirit of rivalry thrives and brings us back for the next year’s match.

To celebrate the fans who keep the spirit alive, we’ve launched this rivalry page to showcase some of the best off-the-field moments in college football. So get out your mobile phone, digital camera and digital video recorder to capture the best game-day highlights and share them with millions of fans on Google Video. If you don’t, it’ll be the other guys who will win the title of “best fans in town” — and that can’t happen, right?

And if you’re headed to the game, be on the lookout — Google Video might be coming to a stadium near you. (Not going to the game? Capture and share your best armchair quarterback or couch outbursts with millions of football fans.)
