In honor of Veterans’ Day, we’re highlighting this really cool clip from the film Speed and Angels in which director Peyton Wilson takes you into the exhilarating world of U.S. Navy fighter pilots. Children often dream big about what they want to do when they grow up. The movie follows two young naval officers fighting to pursue their dream of becoming fighter pilots - and then fighting to stay alive as they deploy to Iraq.
On a related note, did you know that what we call Veterans’ Day was originally called “Armistice Day” - because it’s the anniversary of the agreement ending World War I? All of the major hostilities of that conflict were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 when the Germans signed an armistice. (See, the Google Video Blog can be educational as well as entertaining.)

We’ve just rolled out several search improvements to help you find the videos you want to see quickly and easily. Let’s say you’re searching for mentos and diet coke videos and you want to see those with the highest ratings. Just select “sort by rating” from the drop down menu, and presto! - now the results are sorted so you can easily see the highest rated videos from your search. When ranking the results by rating, we take into account a bunch of different factors such as relevance to your query, rating of the video, popularity and more.
Another new search improvement is the ability to search within a label. Let’s say you want to find all the videos of Zidane labeled as [soccer] . No problem! Search for [label: soccer zidane], and we’ll show you all the Zidane videos that also have the label “soccer”.
Now get going on your must-see list!

From July 7th to July 23rd, 2006, gamers from around the world competed in the first annual “Expert Gamer” contest sponsored by ExpoTV.com and GamePro.com. The contest provided an opportunity for gamers to demonstrate their skills by creating original product reviews (also known as videopinions) of the games they love (or hate) and uploading them to ExpoTV.com for their friends to cast their vote. Voters determined the 15 semi-finalists and the winning videopinions were selected by a panel of expert judges. They scored entries on creativity, video production quality, and the contestants’ depth of knowledge in the games they reviewed. The five Grand Prize winners received awesome prizes (including a Sony high-definition flat screen TV) and they were featured on ExpoTV’s video-on-demand network.
